Genealogy Today, Genealogy Yesterday, Genealogy Tomorrow

Yes, we all have our own idea of what we do in Genealogy today. How do I know that well it comes from listening to people state the pros and cons of potentially merging with another society and later attending a 5 Generation Workshop for people to learn some key steps and processes in developing their own charts on line. Of 11 people at the workshop 1 has no program, others were mixed. All of us were learning new ideas and concepts which says much.It made great sense but there was no guarantee…See More

Now to relearn the system and Results on Pentico- Penticuff YDNA

I am up and running again and hope I can follow the changes that are happening here. It seems I have already lost one of my blogs. I guess worse things can happen. We got our sons information back and I am still waiting for the last of the information to comprehend what it is so far telling us. We did learn that yes Pentico and Penticuff which John used ties to another Penticuff line. Now to see if it ties to the ones I think it will. Another 6 to 8 weeks of waiting to learn more.So we are…See More

The future of this site

I am very sorry to tell you that we will probably shut this network down in May. Ning is closing their free network capabilities to concentrate on paying customers, and this site, as little-used as it is, will most likely be a casualty. Ning will announce their plans about May 4, and we will let you know what will happen.I know many avatars who consult the SL calendar here; it's the easiest way to get to it. Stay tuned for information about how to find things elsewhere, and if you have any…See More

Need help with a RL/SL project

Dear SL Genealogy friends,

I need some help to make a RL event also happen in SL.

At the end of June there is going to be a RL celebration in Ohio to commemorate the life of John Shepherd (1728-1846), who was a soldier of the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War. I have put up a website with information about this:

Assoc. of Professional Genealogists in Second Life Meetings

We've submitted bylaws for approval, and now the proposed chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists in Second Life (APG-SL) will be having our third meeting, tonight, Thursday, April 7, at 5:30 pm Second Life time (which is Pacific Time). In keeping with the goals of the organization, we will be having a presentation by a very well-known speaker (in Second Life he's Krag Mariner), on Revolutionary War Research. Members and non-members are… Continue
